Known for her fiery red hair, bold personality, and infectious passion for food, Burrell was found unresponsive in her Brooklyn apartment early Tuesday morning.

Emergency responders pronounced her dead at the scene following a 911 call reporting cardiac arrest.

What makes her passing especially heartbreaking is how vibrant and full of life she appeared just hours before. On the evening of June 16, Burrell made her debut as a stand-up comic at The Second City NYC, performing with joy and energy.

Though the official cause of death has not yet been confirmed, early reports suggest cardiac arrest. An autopsy is pending.
